Online search engine that indexes articles, theses, books, abstracts, conference proceedings and court opinions; from academic publishers, professional societies, online repositories, universities and other web sites. Although this is a large index, once you have located a citation, you may have to access the complete article using library databases.
Subject Directories for Web Resources
Unlike search engines, these Subject Directories are collections of Web resources that have been selected and organized for academic research. As always, the use of Web sites requires careful evaluation of their credibility. Sites with the domain names .edu and .gov (and possibly .org) are typically the most suitable for academic research.
Merging the collections of resources from the Internet Public Library (IPL) and the Librarians' Internet Index (LII) websites, Ipl2 is hosted by a consortium including Drexel University's College of Information Science & Technology.
