Style guides are used by scholars to properly format their essays, citations, and bibliographies. For this class, you are being asked to use the Chicago Manual of Style (CMS) to format your research paper. These are some sources to help you get familiar with CMS and how to use it for your research paper.
The online edition of the Chicago Manual of Style (CMS or CMOS) provides access to the two most recent editions, and provides guidance on style, usage, grammar, and citations.
Using a citation generator like Zotero or EasyBib? Be sure to check the output before turning in your paper. These tools can be helpful but also can make errors!
Zotero is a citation management program you can use to organize and track all the resources you find during research. This research guide by Preus librarian Germano Streese is an excellent introduction to using Zotero as part of your research process.
