NACJD facilitates research in criminal justice through the preservation and sharing of computerized data resources.

Part of NACJD and designed by the Bureau of Justice Statistics, this dataset provides information on demographic, socioeconomic and criminal history of inmates which includes age, ethnicity, education, gun possession/use, drug possession/use, prior incarceration dates, pre-arrest income and history. Data is provided for the victims as well.

The FBI has gathered crime statistics from law enforcement agencies across the Nation that voluntarily participate in the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program since 1930. The FBI, in cooperation with the Bureau of Justice Statistics, provides this site that allows users to build their own customized data tables.

Available through ICPSR, the ICVS is a collection of surveys of householders' experience with crime, policing, crime prevention, and feelings of insecurity in a large number of nations.
